This winter, we’ve partnered with some amazing local Tasmanian operators to bring you something a little different...
Wilderness Carriage customers are in for a real treat this winter, because we’ve partnered with delectable chocolatiers, Federation Artisan Chocolate, to create a bespoke flavour that’s all rainforest.
Tasmannia lanceeolata, commonly known as the pepperberry tree (or shrub) is found locally in the rainforest that we travel through during each journey. As the name suggests, they have a lovely peppery tang and are often paired with gin – squeeze a dried pepperberry into your gin and tonic and watch it blush!
So, with the help of the flavour king and queen at Federation, we’re providing Wilderness Carriage passengers a taste of the rainforest; a pepperberry, gin and white chocolate truffle featuring locally sourced ingredients – yum!
Upgrade your onboard experience this winter with a Hellyers Distillery winter warmer pack.
Passengers can really rug up and chill out with our little care package available from our ticketing offices before boarding. For an additional $49.95, we’ve included a gorgeous, warm blanket, a 250ml bottle of Hellyer’s Cream Liquor and two West Coast Wilderness Railway nip glasses.
Hellyers Road Distillery is based in Burnie, in Tasmania’s northwest. The Cream Liquor blends fresh, Tasmanian cream and single malt whisky delivering an explosion of malt biscuits, coconut, creamy chocolate, and a drizzle of honey.
What better way to wrap up the return journey from Dubbil Barril station than with a taste of this delectable cream liquor while sharing your warm, woolly blanket with a loved one?
We are pleased to support a range of local accommodation operators currently providing Off Season packages.
Several Queenstown operators are also providing rail and stay packages. For more information, have a chat to Bernie at the warm and cosy Goldrush Inn or to Karen, from the magnificent hilltop bed and breakfast, Penghana.
