Off Season 2023

May 19, 2023
Festive fibs, walking tours and delicious treats are where this winter is at...

The Off Season is here and it's time to rug up and chill out...

This season, we are firing up our cafes and museums for somewhere warm for you to enjoy in the afternoon hours after a brisk winter walk to blow out the cobwebs and, well, REALLY remind you what being alive feels like!

We have a schedule of different events throughout the season, so check back in regularly to see what else is available!

Join us for a 45-minute guided walking tour through the historic mining and rail heritage of Queenstown, once a thriving mining town on Tasmania's west coast.

After the tour, indulge in a delicious cheese spread, and Anvers fudge tasting plate onboard one of West Coast Wilderness Railway's beautifully restored carriages, located within Queenstown Station.

Off Season Decadence Menu

Tracks: Mon-Sun from 11am

Tracks on Point: Tue-Sat from 11am

Embrace the cooler weather at Tracks and Tracks on Point Cafes, and indulge your senses with a special Off Season menu served in front of an open fire.

Warmed beverages and decadent desserts are the only way to top off an adventurous day exploring Tassie's West Coast. Towel dry that rain-damp hair, throw on some dry clothes, head over and chill out.

Christmas in July

Location: Queenstown Station

Available: 1 July - 31 July

Runs: TUE/THU/SAT

Time: 3:00pm

Price: $65 per adult/$35 per child

Step aboard one of our Wilderness Carriages at Queenstown Station with a warm glass of mulled wine and indulge yourself with a festive afternoon tea and slide show with a difference.

Meet your guide for the afternoon, who will take you through our region’s history and the heritage of the Abt Railway, telling tall and short stories – can you tell which ones are local legend or true?

Get outside your comfort zone and head west. We'll be waiting.
