Journey through cool temperate rainforest and explore our pioneering story onboard the comfort of a meticulously restored heritage train. Disembark at stations exclusive to those onboard and participate in a variety of activities, from panning for gold to honey tasting.

WCWR operates original Abt steam locomotives from Queenstown and 1950’s heritage Drewry diesel locomotives from Strahan.

Rolling stock, which includes locomotives and carriages are maintained by our local team at our workshop in Queenstown.

WCWR operates four remote stations along our 35 km railway line, which are privately operated and may only be accessed onboard. Stations currently in use include Lower Landing (Strahan-side) and Lynchford (Queenstown-side). Additional stations will be reopened once phase 3 of infrastructure works are complete.
